Terms of Use

This page is an outline, not finished terms. Have a lawyer prepare or review the website terms, and a separate client services agreement, before relying on them or signing up work. The Australian Consumer Law still applies.

Use of the website

By using this website you accept these terms, once a lawyer has settled the final wording. Until then, treat this page as a draft.

General information, not professional advice

Information on this website is general. It is not professional advice, and it is not financial, legal or other regulated advice. The readiness check is general guidance in the same way.

Intellectual property

I own the intellectual property in the website content, unless I say otherwise. Client work is covered by the engagement, not by these website terms. On a build, you own what I build for your business. Accounts are set up in your business’s name wherever possible.

This site may link to other websites. Those sites are not mine, and their terms and privacy practices are theirs.

Liability

Any limit on liability has to sit within the Australian Consumer Law. I have not written a liability clause here. That belongs in the reviewed terms.

Governing law

I intend the finished terms to be governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.

Changes

I will update this page when the terms change, and put the date here. Last updated: 14 October 2026. Status: outline for legal review.

A separate client services agreement

Website terms are not the contract for a paid engagement. A separate agreement would cover:

  • Scope, deliverables and the fixed price for that engagement.
  • Payment terms and GST.
  • What I need from you: access, data and feedback in reasonable time.
  • Ownership and licensing of what is built, and my right to reuse general know-how that is not specific to you.
  • Third-party services and running costs, which you pay, under those providers’ own terms.
  • Confidentiality and data handling.
  • The limits of AI output, and where a person needs to check the work.
  • The scope of a care plan or an owner’s AI confidant option, if you take one, including term and cancellation. The confidant option is a general sounding board. It is not legal, financial or other regulated advice.
  • Any vendor commission or referral fee, if one ever applies. I don’t take commissions from vendors.
  • Warranties and liability, within the Australian Consumer Law.
  • How an engagement ends.
